Privacy policy

Football Pathfinder (“we”, “the site”) is a free football trivia game. This page explains what information the site collects and how it is used.

What we collect

  • Leaderboard entries. When you finish a career path quiz, we store the name you typed, your score, time, number of correct answers and the quiz mode. These entries are shown publicly on the leaderboard. Don’t use your full real name if you’d rather not.
  • Data kept on your device. Your leaderboard name, daily streak, statistics and in-progress puzzles are saved in your browser’s local storage so they’re still there next time. This never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
  • Usage data. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are used. It records things like your browser type, approximate location and pages visited.

Advertising

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.

YouTube API Services

Football Pathfinder uses YouTube API Services to upload our own daily quiz videos to our YouTube channel. This is done by a private script authorised only by the channel owner. We do not use the YouTube API to access, collect, store or share any information about visitors to this website or viewers of our videos.

  • By watching our videos on YouTube you are subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
  • Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
  • The channel owner can revoke this site’s access to the YouTube account at any time from the Google security settings page. When access is revoked, the stored authorisation token is deleted and no further uploads are made.
  • We store no data obtained through YouTube API Services. The only credential kept is the channel owner’s authorisation token, held as an encrypted secret and deleted on request or when access is revoked.

How we use information

We use it to run the game and its leaderboards, to fix problems, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We don’t sell personal information.

Your choices

There are no accounts, so the only personal information we hold is the leaderboard name you chose. If you want an entry removed, contact us and tell us the name, mode and roughly when you played.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
