Why career paths?
Most football quizzes test whether you recognise a face. Pathfinder takes the face away and leaves the story: the academy that produced him, the loan spell nobody remembers, the big move, the swansong abroad. A one-club man reads very differently from a striker with twelve clubs in fifteen years.
Quizzes are split by era, from the First Division greats of the ’60s and ’70s through the first Premier League decade, the Big Four years and the 2010s, up to the players in today’s league. Each comes in three difficulties, from household names to cult heroes and short-term loanees.
Career data comes from Wikipedia and is refreshed regularly, so recent transfers show up. Only senior club spells count; youth teams, reserve sides and international caps are left out.
